Video Producer

Terms of reference to conduct field interviews and producing a video clip on Haki Mashinani interventions under the women@work campaign.

Introduction

Haki Mashinani is a national NGO whose vision and mission of the organization is to have a society where everyone lives in dignity and enjoys basic legal, social and economic rights and to enhance access to justice to the grassroots communities in Kenya to enable them access rights, economic services and enhance their wellbeing.

Haki Mashinani is winding up its project implementation and a grant under the W@W Campaign, funded by Hivos for which it was implementing a project whose objective was to ‘Improve working environment of grassroots women in 3 sub-counties in Nakuru County using farm based PPR (Protection, Prohibition and Redress) approach in GBV intervention’.

Haki Mashinani wishes to hire an experienced video producer to produce short clips highlighting interventions undertaken by Haki Mashinani towards the success of the project. The producer is expected to work closely with the Haki Mashinani staff and its partners in the delivery of the project goals and objectives.

Specific Objectives:

  •  To interview workers, managers, farm leaders, shop stewards, trade union officials and project staff on the project’s interventions.
  • To develop a video on these interventions made and how they have impacted on the lives, wellbeing and capacity of the workers in agitating for their rights as well as a safe working environment for the women free from discrimination and sexual harassmen
  •  Impact of the W@W Campaign in reducing sexual harassment at the workplace.

Deliverables:

  • Provide a concise inception report on the assignment.
  • Satisfactory videos as per Haki Mashinani operational requirements.

Experience

  • The consultant must have demonstrated at least three years’ experience in video production.
  • Experience of working with business companies, local communities and non-governmental organizations in video production will be an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in video production for NGO sector will be an added advantage. Time Frame The assignment is expected to commence by the 19th of June 2020 and take a maximum of two weeks.
  • Submission of proposal Applicants should send a brief cover letter explaining their qualification and motivation for the position; and how their experience is relevant to the position no.

All applicants must meet the minimum requirements described above, and those unable to meet these requirements will not be considered. Interested consultancy persons are invited to submit their bids.

Evaluation and Award of Work

Haki Mashinani will evaluate the proposals and award the assignment based on technical and financial feasibility. Haki Mashinani reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal received without giving reasons and is not bound to accept the lowest or the highest bidder
